Ranbir Kapoor Steps Into the Role of Lord Ram
Playing Lord Ram is not an ordinary acting challenge.
The character is already deeply familiar to audiences, which means Ranbir Kapoor has a huge responsibility on his shoulders.
In the trailer, Ranbir appears in a calm and dignified avatar while also showing glimpses of the warrior side of Ram. His look and screen presence have already become major talking points among fans.
But the real question is whether Ranbir can make audiences connect emotionally with this legendary character.
Yash as Ravana Is One of the Biggest Attractions
If Ranbir’s Ram represents calmness and righteousness, Yash’s Ravana brings a completely different energy.
The actor’s powerful screen presence makes Ravana one of the most anticipated characters in the film.
The trailer doesn’t reveal everything about his character, but it gives enough glimpses to create curiosity about how the film will present the legendary king of Lanka.
And, of course, everyone is waiting for one moment:
Ram versus Ravana.
Sai Pallavi as Sita
Sai Pallavi plays Sita, one of the central characters in Ram’s journey.
Her character is an important part of the emotional side of the story, and audiences will be interested to see how the film portrays the relationship between Ram and Sita.
The trailer gives only selected glimpses, keeping much of her journey for the movie itself.
Sunny Deol as Hanuman
Another casting choice that has generated huge curiosity is Sunny Deol as Hanuman.
With his powerful personality and distinctive voice, Sunny Deol could bring a strong presence to one of the most loved characters in the Ramayana.
Ravi Dubey is also part of the film as Lakshman.
Together, these characters form an important part of Ram’s journey.

A Different Kind of Ramayana
The biggest thing that stands out in the trailer is the scale.
This doesn’t look like a traditional mythological movie.
The makers appear to be creating an enormous cinematic world filled with grand locations, detailed characters, battles and large-scale visual effects.
From Ayodhya to Lanka, the film seems determined to make the audience feel as though they have stepped inside the world of the epic.
The Story Is Familiar — But the Experience Could Be New
There is an interesting challenge when making a film about the Ramayana.
The audience already knows the story.
They know Ram.
They know Sita.
They know Hanuman.
They know Ravana.
And they know that the story will eventually lead to the legendary battle.
So the filmmakers cannot simply rely on the story itself.
They have to make audiences feel the story again.
That is where the performances, music, visuals and emotional moments will become important.
Ranbir Kapoor vs Yash: The Face-Off Everyone Is Waiting For
Perhaps the biggest cinematic attraction will be the eventual confrontation between Ranbir Kapoor’s Ram and Yash’s Ravana.
Both actors have very different screen personalities, which could make their eventual face-off even more powerful.
The trailer gives only a taste of what is coming.
The real battle will have to wait for the big screen.
When Will Ramayana Part 1 Release?
Ramayana: Part 1 is expected to arrive in cinemas during Diwali 2026.
With the global trailer now released, the excitement around the film is likely to grow even further as the theatrical release gets closer.
Entertainment Dhamaka Take
The trailer has certainly created curiosity.
It has a legendary story, a major star cast and a huge cinematic vision. But the biggest test will be whether the film can take a story that everyone already knows and make audiences experience it in a fresh and emotional way.
For now, the trailer has given fans plenty to talk about.
The story is ancient. The characters are legendary. But this cinematic journey could be something completely new.
Now, all eyes are on Diwali 2026.
Will Ramayana: Part 1 become one of the biggest Indian films of 2026?
